The most important security property of FormatMill is simple: your files never leave your device. There is no upload step, so there is no copy of your file on a server to be leaked, intercepted, or kept longer than you expect.

How it works

• All processing runs in your browser using local code. Your files are held only in memory and are discarded when you close the tab.
• There are no user accounts, so there is no password or personal database that could be breached.
• The site is served over HTTPS, so the page and its code reach you untampered.

Reporting a vulnerability

If you believe you have found a security issue, we would like to hear from you. Please email security@formatmill.com with the details and steps to reproduce it. Give us a reasonable amount of time to investigate and fix the issue before disclosing it publicly. We will not pursue action against researchers who act in good faith and avoid harming users or their data.
